2014 Ashford performance is backing the Vauxhall Astra VXR of Daniel Clark into the Time Attack Series. The car is an Astra H VXR which has a huge background, since Daniel has owned the car the car has been fully rebuilt to race in the Club Challenge Class FWD. The car was previously raced in Production Touring Car so that was a good base to start from, following that we have fitted uprated intercooler, hybrid turbo and high flow inlet manifold all parts we sell for road and trackday cars.
See below how the Time attack 2014 championship unravels.
Round 1 – Silverstone
Daniel Clark – Another former race car and Daniel wasn’t shy about pushing it it’s limits.. and beyond. He was at the forefront of every FWD session, always on maximum attack. A worthy start to his Time Attack career. We look forward to seeing how Daniel and his car develop during the season.
Round 2 – Knockhill
Daniel Clark – We’re sure Daniel won’t mind us saying it was a bit of a shock to see him put in the second-fastest time of the day in Club FWD, leap-frogging some experienced Time Attack drivers including the fastest man from Round 1. It was also a surprise because Daniel was completely new to the circuit and had a fairly high-speed meeting with a barrier during Practice! Having cable-tied the car back together, Daniel proved he’s a brave man by going out with no fear and maximum attack to grab second place in the final.
